Shifting

In transience

I chase

Stability

Familiarity

Becomes like my skin

Rough

Like the soles of my feet

Soft

Like the tender insides of my thighs

In transience

I battle

Familiarity

Stability

Becomes like my shadow

Shifting

Like the tan-line on my back

Permanent

Like the grey roots on my head

Moving Closer

Step by step

I cope

Never losing

Complete hope

Always a new tomorrow

Life

Never judged

By sorrow

Step by step

I live

Never wavering

In faith

Always a new challenge

Life

Never completely

Off balance

Step by step

I move

Never slowing

Always space for renewal

Life

Never sure

No one

Ever fully secure

Restoration

Strip insecurity

With fresh ideas

Build confidence

With three cheers

Strip negativity

With a check on reality

Build self-image

Beyond shallow vanity

By Simone Beatrice Naik Noemdoe, 2012-07-31.

Divergent

Lingering

On the edge

Separated

By our diverse realities

Occasionally

I wonder

Why it feels like

Life is plagued

With tragedy

Hanging

On the edge

Lingering

On our common realities

Often

I wonder

Why it feels like

Life is filled

With opportunities

Opposite ends of the Earth

Down south

Winter

Drains its soul away

Sunshine

Blinks and winks

Along the way

Up north

Summer

Lingers often at bay

Sunshine

Ducks and dives

On a cloudy day

Mind the Gap

Science
